Programme presentation
Urban growth
The urban growth of Benahavis has been executed in an irresponsible and uncoordinated way.
Improvements
They say we do not look after the village¡ Look at the following improvements.
The ring road, the road towards Montemayor, the access to the cemetery, the zone from the school to the “Puerto del Molino”, both bridges over the Guadalmina river, golf driving range and free golf lessons for kids, Spanish lessons for foreigners ( half paid for by the town hall ), free tennis and swimming lessons, etç…
Security
The P.S.O.E. talks about a lack of security.
Social Housing
Why lie about it again?
30 social apartments are being built at the moment and plots are being liberated to build more over the next 8 years.
We have to remind you that this has happened although the P.S.O.E. voted against.
municipal accounts
The local socialist party pretends that the governing party is causing an unprecedented loss of the municipal accounts.
The truth is that during the government of the local P.P. over the last 12 years the municipal accounts has increased dramatically, from being almost inexistent, to the following numbers:
Cash funds :
39.824.085,14 Euros
3 houses
4 offices
24 commercial premises
local cemetery
sports complex with football pitch, swimming pool, tennis courts, golf driving range, indoor sports centre, etç…
Industrial hall for the vehicles
Green zones : 73.993 m2
Building plots : 1.492 m2
The total value of those properties, excluding the sports facilities, amounts to 2.343.377,33 Euros
Properties outside the town centre :
Green zones : 3.295.531 m2
Equipment areas : 1.074.144 m2
Building plots : 44.980 m2
Total value : 99.332.836,53 Euros
Total area : 783.392 m2
Total estimation : 35.197.726,00 Euros
All the documents confirming these numbers are of public character and can be verified by everyone in the municipal premises.
All this has been achieved over the last 12 years without raising local taxes.
youth policy
It is said that cultural and educational activities for the younger citizens have been forgotten.
Which town hall does more?
Since 12 years ago all the textbooks for the pupils of the local school with residence in Benahavis have been paid for by the town hall.
Extra language classes have been paid for completely by the town hall.
An extra teacher for the preliminary school is being paid for with public funding.
All the transport costs for excursions organised by the local school are being taken care of.
And we can’t name all the activities who receive economical aid because we would run out of pages.
work contracts at the town hall
The local socialist party is trying to enchant the town hall personnel but forget that, during the few years ( 2 ) they were in charge of the town hall, workers received the worst wages and were not given any guarantees of getting their salaries at the end of the month due to the precarious financial situation. In those 2 years no salaries were raised.
Staff do not forget such a thing.
Once again they tell lies when they speak of the “bogus work contracts”, when none of those exist in the present day at the town hall.
At the moment, 93 people are employed by the Benahavis town hall, including public servants and local police officers :
46 have a permanent contract
2 from an employment agency
3 consultants
3 collaborating on the new general plan for construction
39 have a contract for a fixed period
Another 33 places have already been created and 15 more will be created to cover the necessities of our growing village, so that most of the staff will get a permanent contract.
And we should not forget that all salaries are and will be paid at the end of each month.
public services
They also hint that certain public services are not up to standard, but obviously forget that these services are not municipal but depend on the Andalusian government.
We would like to give as an example the “Ambulatorio Médico”, or medical centre. This should be provided by the Andalusian Health Authority, but what happens? They do not even pay for the cleaning of the premises, so the town hall has to pick up the bills.
And to provide any services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the town hall has had to employ a health assistant.
